Site owners can earn money from their site by putting advertisements on their website.

There are a few different publisher programs out there and different styles of advertising. First off unless you have thousands of hits on your site i would not recommend putting ads on your site because you will never make enough to reach min payout. I know this from experience , dont waste your time. I know you want to try it , but really work on getting more traffic before you put ads. If anything you should be buying ads not publishing them.

Publisher programs

The most popular program is owned by google , called google adsense. Adsense is popular because of the many advertising and publisher features , plus the vast amount of advertisers. Other popular programs include clicksor and bidvertiser . Most programs you will have to have a certain amount of traffic before they will even consider you to use their program. Others dont have min. requirements but they will check your site for content.

Types of advertising

Banners- You can place banners on your site and get paid in different ways. You can get paid per click , every time someone clicks on the banner you will get paid a certain amount that the advertisers is willing to pay. The amount is also determined by the programs depending on the popularity of the keyword. Some programs offer CPM , which is for every 1000 impressions you will get paid a certain amount.

Text ads- Text ads are just like the banners , except they are no images , just text. They are not as popular and sometimes are harder to notice than banners. You get paid per click on text ads.

Search- I know adsense has this option where you can put a search bar on your site. Every time someone searches on google with the bar you will earn a certain amount.

Affiliate- Affiliate works a little different than those other methods. Instead you can place text ads , banners or links of a product and if someone buys the product that came from your link/site you will earn a referral % of the sale. Many big shopping sites have their own affiliate programs you can join. There are also big programs like clickbank that you can promote thousands of different products.

These are the majors publishing/advertising methods. The more traffic you have the more money you are going to earn. Its all about getting quality traffic to earn off ads. If you only have a couple hundred hits a day i wouldnt recommend you advertise products on your site , because it wont be worth it. If you have thousands of hits daily then this is a great way to make extra bucks from your site. Another thing i want to mention , dont over advertise. If your site is filled with advertisements it doesnt make your site look good. Keep it minimal by putting them in places they can be noticed. For example in the middle of an article or at the top.

I have decided to write an article about advertising and publishing. I was browsing through a forum lately and someone ask how they should advertise their site with like amount of money.
Advertising

If you have tonnes of money you can advertise with program such as adwords , clicksor , and many other advertising programs. I know 99% of you arn’t going to spend tonnes of money at programs that are going to cost so much per hit. There are many of ways you can advertise without spend money or very little. The whole point is getting your word out to as many people and to as many sites. I will give you 10 things you can do.

1. Tell your friends and family. Send them an email about your site.

2. Post about your site on popular forums. Don’t spam though.

3. Write comments on other blogs , by leaving your site link in your comment people may visit your site.

4. Submit articles to web directors. Write interesting articles and include your site link.

5. Submit your site to search engines , there are many programs out there that will do this for free.

6. Exchange links with other sites. Contact other site with similar content asking if they would like to exchange links.

7. Join social networking sites like Twitter and promote your site.

8. Use entrecard , Drop other blogs and get Drops on yours.

9.Be ative at forums and include your site in your signature.

10. Put social networking submit buttons on posts

There are many ways you can advertise your site and it doesn’t have to cost money , just your time. If your willing to spend lots of money on advertising then thats your choice. If your only going to spend little amount of money in advertising your going to find out its not going to generate as much traffic as your had hopped. It all depends on the advertising program and your strategies.
Publishing

You have a website and your looking to make some money by putting ads on your site. First off , unless you have thousands and thousands of hits a day , don’t waste your time with advertisng that pay per click. I have tried this before , i’m talking from experience. If  your try putting ads on your site with small amount of traffic you will only get very small amount of clicks. Most publishing programs have a min withdraw of 50$ or sometimes 100$. When your only earning few cents a day it will take years before you will get paid. Its good to experiement with these programs , but if your just trying to make money with little amount of traffic it just doesn’t work. Take that time you spend using these programs and put it into traffic! Once you get a good amount of traffic then it will be worth trying out these programs.
